# Account: IP Restrictions

IP restrictions enable you to specify the IP addresses that are allowed to access the SmarterU account.

When you [edit your account's settings](/v1/docs/editing-your-account-settings), the IP Restrictions accordion of the Account Profile workscreen includes the following settings.

## **Adding an IP Restriction**

To add IP addresses that are allowed to access your account:

1. [Edit your account settings](/v1/docs/editing-your-account-settings)
2. Expand the IP Restrictions accordion.
3. If the **Enable IP Restrictions** checkbox is not checked, check it.
4. Specify the [settings](/v1/docs/account-ip-restrictions#settings) for the IP address. If you have already specified an IP address in the past, click **IP Address** to specify additional IP addresses.

1. Click **Save**.

## **Settings**

Be sure to click **Save** after changing these settings.

### Enable IP Restrictions

If checked, users can only log in from the IP addresses that you specify.

Administrators and owners will be able to access SmarterU from any IP address.

### IP Address

Enter the IP address from which users may access SmarterU.

### Note

You may enter an optional note about the IP address.
