# Account Permission: Global Reporting

You can assign [group permissions](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/user-group-permissions) or [account permissions](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/user-account-permissions) to a user by [editing their user profile](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/editing-a-user-manually).

The functions available to users with the Global Reporting account permission are detailed below.

This permission is useful when an account with numerous groups wants to allow someone to report on any user in any group without having to give the person the [View Learner Results permission](/v1/docs/group-permission-view-learner-results-vlr) for each group.

This account permission also allows the user to view report columns for every defined custom user field, regardless of the [custom user field's **Home Group Permission Required to View or Edit** setting](/v1/docs/account-custom-user-fields#home-group-permission-required-to-view-or-edit).

Custom user fields that have their [**Encrypted** setting](/v1/docs/account-custom-user-fields#encrypted) checked will always to be visible to any user that can report on the fields. They are simply encrypted in the database.

## Report Admin

### Default Enrollment Report Workscreen

Users with the Global Reporting account permission can do the following from the default Enrollment Report workscreen:

Users with the Global Reporting account permission can do the following from the default Learning Plan workscreen:

### Reports Dashboard

Users with the Global Reporting account permission can do the following from the [Reports Dashboard](/v1/docs/reports-dashboard):

- [Add custom Enrollment Reports](/v1/docs/adding-a-custom-enrollment-report).
- [Add custom Learning Plan Reports](/v1/docs/adding-a-custom-learning-plan-report).
- [Run custom Enrollment](/v1/docs/running-a-saved-enrollment-report) and [Learning Plan Reports](/v1/docs/running-a-saved-learning-plan-report) that they've added, or that are available to them based on the report's visibility level.

### Scheduled Reporting Dashboard

Users with the Global Reporting account permission can do the following from the [Scheduled Reporting Dashboard](/v1/docs/scheduled-reporting-dashboard):
