# Action: Prerequisites

A action's prerequisites are those [courses](/v1/docs/courses) that the learner must complete or [actions](/v1/docs/actions) that must be accepted before the learner can begin the action.

A action's prerequisites are assigned in the Prerequisites accordion of the Add/Edit Action workscreen.

To specify prerequisites for an action:

1. From the Add/Edit Action workscreen, expand the Prerequisites accordion.
2. Click the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/7efaadab-fef6-4186-806a-2ca14c9ce9ea/Images/Documentation/action-prerequisites-image-shbjeyr1.png) beside the prerequisite courses or action. The selected rows are shaded.

You may also click **Assign All** to select all courses and actions as prerequisites.

1. Click **Save**.
