# Adding a Basic Learning Plan

To add a basic [learning plan](/v1/docs/learning-plans):

1. From the Admin menu, select **Account Admin**.
2. Select **Learning Plans**. The [Learning Plans Dashboard](/v1/docs/learning-plans-dashboard) displays.
3. Click **Learning Plan (Basic)**.

A new tab displays the Add/Edit Learning Plan (Basic) workscreen.

1. Specify the basic learning plan's settings in the following accordions:

- [Main](/v1/docs/learning-plan-main)
- [Expiration](/v1/docs/basic-learning-plan-expiration)
- [Met by Default](/v1/docs/basic-learning-plan-met-by-default)

1. For each [requirement block](/v1/docs/requirement-blocks)that you want to add:
  1. Click Block.
  2. Select the [course](/v1/docs/courses) or [action](/v1/docs/actions) you want to add to the block.
2. Click **Save**.

You can now [assign the learning plan to users](/v1/docs/assigning-learning-plans-to-a-user).
