# Adding a Group

## Who Has Access

The following users can add groups:

- Users with the [Create New Group](/v1/docs/account-permission-create-new-group) account permission.
- [Administrators and owners](/v1/docs/user-profile-information#access-level).

## Adding a Group

To add a group:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Account Admin**.
2. Select **Groups**. The [Groups Dashboard](/v1/docs/groups-dashboard) displays.
3. From the right pane, click **Group**.

A New Group tab displays the Add/Edit Group workscreen.

1. Specify the group's settings in the following accordions:

- [Group Information](/v1/docs/group-group-information)
- [Tags](/v1/docs/group-tags)
- [Home Group Message](/v1/docs/group-home-group-message)
- [Learning Plans](/v1/docs/group-learning-plans)
- [Courses](/v1/docs/group-courses)
- [Subscriptions](/v1/docs/group-subscriptions)
- [Users](/v1/docs/group-users)

1. Click **Save**.

If you added a subscription variant to the group, the [courses included in the subscription](/v1/docs/subscription-courses) will be automatically be added to the group if they are not already included, and will have their [**Subscr. Lock** setting enabled](/v1/docs/group-courses#subscr-lock).
