# Adding a Licensing Agency

In order to use this feature, be sure to enable [licensing](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/account-settings#enable-licensing) for your account.

To add an agency:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Account Admin.**
2. Select **Licensing**. The [Licensing Dashboard](/v1/docs/licensing-dashboard) displays.
3. Click **Agency**.

A new tab displays the Add/Edit Agency workscreen.

1. Specify the [agency's settings](/v1/docs/adding-a-licensing-agency#settings).
2. Click **Save**.

## Settings

### Name

The name of the licensing agency.

### Status

Select the agency's status:

- Active - The agency may be associated with [certifications](/v1/docs/certification-licensing), [point trackers](/v1/docs/point-tracker-licensing), and [users](/v1/docs/user-licensing).
- Inactive - The agency cannot be associated with certifications, point trackers, and users.

### Description

A description of the licensing agency.
