# Adding an Article Template

These steps assume that you have already [added the knowledge base](/v1/docs/adding-a-knowledge-base).

To add an article template:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Knowledge Base**.
2. Select the knowledge base to which you would like to add a template.
3. Click **Template**.

A new tab displays the Add/Edit Template workscreen.

1. Specify the article template's settings in the following accordions:

- [Template Information](/v1/docs/article-template-template-information)
- [Tags](/v1/docs/article-template-tags)
- [Attributes](/v1/docs/article-template-attributes) (only applicable to [*Structured Page* templates](/v1/docs/article-template-template-information#type))
- [Descriptions](/v1/docs/article-template-descriptions) (only applicable to [*Structured Page* templates](/v1/docs/article-template-template-information#type))

1. Click **Save**.
