By default, course managers have access to the following functionality.

  • Edit all settings for existing courses. Refer to the page on online, SCORM, and instructor-led courses for details on the available settings. A course manager will be able to see and assign a course to any group(s) that are assigned courses they manage. For example, if course A is assigned to group X, the course manager will only be able to assign other courses they manage to group X. However, if course A is assigned to groups X, Y, and Z, the course manager can assign other courses they manage to groups X, Y, and Z. 
  • Add sessions to instructor-led courses.
  • Archive and unarchive courses.

The account's Course Manager Access setting has three options that you can enable:

These options provide course managers with additional functionality and are described in more detail below.

Enabling these access options gives all course managers in your account access to perform the functions described below. If you only want to allow specific course managers access to perform certain functions, you should edit their user profile and grant them the necessary group or account permissions.

Report on Enrollments Option

The account's Course Manager Access setting's Report on Enrollments option allows course managers to view the Enrollment Report for users enrolled in a course that they manage, regardless of whether the course manager has reporting permissions. 

The Report on Enrollments option gives course managers access to the following dashboards and workscreens. Unless the course manager has other permissions or access roles, the dashboards and workscreens below will only include information for courses they manage.

Default Enrollment Report Workscreen

  • Run the default Enrollment Report.
  • The Enrollment Report's Filter by Learner list will only include learners enrolled in a course they manage.
  • The other filters for the Enrollment Report will only include data associated with courses they manage. For example, the Filter by Groups list will only include groups that are assigned a course they manage.

  • Add a custom Enrollment Report.
  • The Enrollment Report's Filter by Learner list will only include learners enrolled in a course they manage.
  • The other filters for the Enrollment Report will only include data associated with courses they manage. For example, the Filter by Groups list will only include groups that are assigned a course they manage.
Scheduled Reporting

If the option is enabled and the account's Send Automated Weekly email setting is checked, the account's selected Weekly Summary Report email will be sent to course managers.

Enroll Learners Option

The account's Course Manager Access setting's Enroll Learners option allows course managers to enroll users into courses that they manage. 

The Enroll Learners option gives course managers access to the following dashboards and workscreens. Unless the course manager has other permissions or access roles, the dashboards and workscreens below will only include information for courses they manage.

Manual Enrollment Workscreen

  • Enroll users in courses they manage. The users must belong to a group that is assigned the course. 
  • The groups displayed in the list only include those that are assigned the course that they manage.
  • The subscriptions displayed in the list only include those that are associated with the course they they manage. However, course managers will not be able to enroll users in subscriptions.

Course managers will NOT be able to create new courses from the Instructor-Led Training Historical Entry workscreen.

  • View registrations for learners who are enrolled in sessions that belong to courses they manage.

ILT Instructor Option

The account's Course Manager Access setting's ILT Instructor option allows course managers to perform the functions of an instructor-led training instructor.

The ILT Instructor option gives course managers access to the following dashboards and workscreens. Unless the course manager has other permissions or access roles, the dashboards and workscreens below will only include information for courses they manage.
