# Courses: Instructor-led

Instructor-led courses are courses that are offered outside of SmarterU. Examples of instructor-led courses include in-classroom training and webinars.

Each instructor-led course can have one or more *sessions*. A session inherits the settings of the course, but each is a specific instance of the course. For example, the First Aid and CPR course may have four sessions that are offered at different dates. Sessions can also have other unique settings such as grade type, instructors, and venues.
