# Courses

SmarterU enables you to manage online, instructor-led courses, and SCORM courses. You can add and edit all course types using the [Courses Dashboard](/v1/docs/courses-dashboard).

[Online courses](/v1/docs/courses-online) are taken by learners through [SmarterU's learner interface](/v1/docs/learner-interface). Each online course consists of [tasks](/docs/courses#top_of_page) that learners must complete. You can add and edit an online course's content using the [Course Builder Dashboard](/v1/docs/course-builder-dashboard).

In order for learners to see their enrolled courses or the course catalog in the [learner interface](http://v1/docs/learner-interface), be sure to configure a [course page](/v1/docs/page-configuration-for-course-pages) in their [dashboard set](/v1/docs/dashboard-sets).  

[Instructor-led courses](/v1/docs/courses-instructor-led) are those courses that are taught by a [trainer](/v1/docs/adding-and-removing-session-instructors) and offered outside of SmarterU. Instructor-led courses may either take place at a specific [physical location](/v1/docs/venues-and-rooms), or online (e.g., webinar).

[SCORM courses](/v1/docs/courses-scorm) are courses that are developed with a product such as Captivate, Camtasia, or Storyline, then published to a format that can be [uploaded to SmarterU](/v1/docs/scorm-course-main#scorm-package).

Online, instructor-led, and SCORM courses can be combined to create a hybrid learning environment.
