# Editing a Learning Plan

## Editing an Advanced Learning Plan

If you select and edit a basic learning plan or its certification and requirement from the [Learning Plans (by Name) list](/v1/docs/viewing-learning-plans#viewing-learning-plans-by-name) (i.e., the default list), you'll be editing each part individually. If you want a basic learning plan's certification and requirement to keep the same name and status, refer to [Editing a Basic Learning Plan](/v1/docs/editing-a-learning-plan#-editing-a-basic-learning-plan).

To edit a learning plan:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Account Admin**.
2. Select **Learning Plans**. The [Learning Plans Dashboard](/v1/docs/learning-plans-dashboard) displays.
3. [View the details of the learning plan](/v1/docs/viewing-a-learning-plans-details) you would like to edit.
4. Click **Edit**.
5. Edit the [learning plan's settings](/v1/docs/settings-learning-plans) as needed.
6. Click **Save**.

## Editing a Basic Learning Plan

If you select a learning plan from the [Learning Plans (Basic) list](/v1/docs/viewing-learning-plans#viewing-basic-learning-plans) as detailed below and edit its name or status, SmarterU will automatically change the name and status of its certification and requirement to be the same. However, if you select and edit a basic learning plan or its certification and requirement from the [Learning Plans (by Name) list](/v1/docs/viewing-learning-plans#viewing-learning-plans-by-name) (i.e., the default list), you'll be editing each part individually.

To edit a basic learning plan:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Account Admin**.
2. Select **Learning Plans**. The [Learning Plans Dashboard](/v1/docs/learning-plans-dashboard) displays.
3. From the list, select **Learning Plans (basic)**.

1. Select the basic learning plan you want to edit.
2. Edit the learning plan's settings as needed.
3. Click **Save**.
