# Editing an Online Course

## Who Has Access

The following users can edit an online course from the Courses Dashboard:

- [Course managers](/v1/docs/course-course-managers) for the courses they manage.
- [Administrators or owners](/v1/docs/user-profile-information#access-level).

## Editing an Online Course's Settings

To edit a course's information:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Course Admin**
2. Select **Courses**. The [Courses Dashboard](/v1/docs/courses-dashboard) displays.
3. Click the course name you would like to edit. A tab labeled with the selected course's name displays in the right pane.
4. Expand the **Edit** list.
5. Select **Edit Settings**.

The Course Information workscreen for the course displays in a new tab.

1. Edit the course's settings as needed. Information about the various accordions can be found on the pages below:

1. Click **Save**.

## Editing an Online Course's Content

To edit the content (i.e., [chapters](/v1/docs/chapters) and [tasks](/v1/docs/tasks)) of an online course:

1. From the Admin menu, select **Course Admin**
2. Select **Courses**. The [Courses Dashboard](/v1/docs/courses-dashboard) displays.
3. Click the course name you would like to edit. A tab labeled with the selected course's name displays in the right pane.
4. Expand the **Edit** list.
5. Select **Edit Content**.

A new browser tab displays the [Course Builder Dashboard](/v1/docs/course-builder-dashboard) with the course's content.

1. Edit the course's [chapters](/v1/docs/chapters) and [tasks](/v1/docs/tasks) as needed.
