# Email Templates

Email templates are pre-defined formats (e.g., colors, fonts, background, layout) and content (e.g., text, [variables](/v1/docs/email-template-variables)) for SmarterU's system-generated emails. System-generated emails include the account invitation, course enrollment, and password recovery emails.  Email templates have a fixed width of 600 pixels.
