# Group Permission: Manage Users (MU)

You can assign [group permissions](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/user-group-permissions) or [account permissions](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/user-account-permissions) to a user by [editing their user profile](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/editing-a-user-manually).

The functions available to users with the Manage Users group permission are detailed below.

## User Admin

### Users Dashboard

Users with the MU group permission can do the following from the [Users Dashboard](/v1/docs/users-dashboard):

- [Add users](/v1/docs/adding-a-user-manually). They will only be able to assign the new users to the group(s) where they have the MU permission.
- [View a user's details](/v1/docs/viewing-a-users-details). The details that are visible will depend on the user's other permissions and whether the [account's **Home Group Reporting** setting](/v1/docs/account-settings#enable-home-group-reporting) is enabled. Wage information is only displayed if the user also has the [View Wages & Training Costs account permission](/v1/docs/account-permission-view-wages-training-costs).
- [Edit users](/v1/docs/editing-a-user-manually) whose [home group](/v1/docs/home-groups) is the group where the MU permission is granted.
