# Release Notes: 2024 September 21

## System-Wide Updates

### Enhancements

- We made an accessibility update to ensure screen readers and other tools correctly interpret content based on a user's selected language.

### Bug Fixes

- We removed the chat widget from the [Profile workscreen](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/editing-your-profile) and [Message Center](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/message-center).
- We fixed an issue that prevented PDF files from being viewed in Chrome on iOS versions prior to 17.4.

## Account Administration

### Enhancements

- We made security updates related to PDFs.

### Bug Fixes

- We fixed an issue that prevented requirements with a Recommended or Optional mandate level from being properly recalculated.
- We fixed an issue that prevented tables in knowledge base articles from being visible in dark themes.
- We fixed an issue that caused question options to extend past the border when [previewing a form for mobile devices](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/previewing-a-form#previewing-for-mobile-devices).

## API

### Bug Fixes

- We fixed an issue with [updateUser](/v1/docs/api-updateuser) to ensure that it checks for a valid email address. As part of this update, we changed the error text associated with error UU:52 to "A valid email address must be provided."

## Learner Interface

### Enhancements

- We made accessibility updates that changed buttons to links.

### Bug Fixes

- We updated the [reset password](/v1/docs/recovering-your-password), [enrollment](/v1/docs/learner-interface-enrolling-in-courses), and [external course submission](/v1/docs/learner-interface-external-course-submissions) workscreens to indicate which fields are required.
- We updated the forms workscreens to indicate which fields are required.

## Report Administration

### Enhancements

- We made changes to reduce the amount of database resources used by the [Enrollment Report](/v1/docs/enrollment-report) and [Learning Plan Report](/v1/docs/learning-plan-report).
