# Replacing a Knowledge Base File

You may also [revert to a previous file version](/v1/docs/reverting-to-a-previous-file-version).

To replace an existing knowledge base file:

1. [Edit the knowledge base file](/v1/docs/editing-a-knowledge-base-file).
2. From the [File Information](/v1/docs/file-file-information) accordion, click **Replace File**.

1. Select the file you would like to upload.
2. Click **Open**. The selected file's name displays beside the Replace File button.
3. Click **Save**.
