# Setting Up Credits

## Setting Up Credits for a Group's Courses

BEFORE YOU BEGINThe steps below assume you have added the course to your account.

To set up credits for a group's course enrollments:

1. [Edit the group](/v1/docs/editing-a-group).
2. If the course hasn't already been added to the group, [add the course to the group](/v1/docs/group-courses#adding-courses-to-a-group).
3. Check the [**Credits** setting for the course](/v1/docs/group-courses#credits).

You can also [add the course to the group](/v1/docs/course-groups#assigning-groups-to-a-course) and check the [**Credits** setting](/v1/docs/course-groups#credits) from the [Courses Dashboard](/v1/docs/courses-dashboard).

1. Click **Save**. The group will now have to have credits in order to enroll its users in the course.
2. Use the [Credits Dashboard](/v1/docs/credits-dashboard) to [add credits to the group and course](/v1/docs/managing-credits).

## Setting Up Credits for a Group's Subscriptions

BEFORE YOU BEGINThe steps below assume you have added the subscription and its variant to your account.

To set up credits for a group's subscription enrollments:

1. [Edit the group](/v1/docs/editing-a-group).
2. If the subscription variant hasn't already been added to the group, [add the variant to the group](/v1/docs/group-subscriptions#adding-subscriptions-to-a-group).
3. Check the [**Credits** setting for the variant](/v1/docs/group-subscriptions#adding-subscriptions-to-a-group).

1. Click **Save**. The group will now have to have credits in order to enroll its users in the subscription.
