### Active

A status type that can be associated with any record in SmarterU. By default, the dashboards, reports, and lists in SmarterU only include active records.

A type of task in an online course that provides interactivity. ### Archive

An act that can be performed on a [course](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#course), [venue](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#venue), or [room](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#room).

[Archiving a course](/v1/docs/archiving-a-course) prevents additional [learners](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#learner) from being enrolled in the [course](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#course). Learners enrolled in and learners who are in the progress of taking an archived course will still be able to complete the course.

[Archiving a venue or room](/v1/docs/archiving-a-venue-or-room) prevents new [instructor-led courses](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#instructorled-course) from being associated with the [venue](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#venue) or [room](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#room). Existing [sessions](/v1/docs/smarteru-glossary#session) associated with an archived venue or room will continue to be associated with the venue or room.
