The [Course Completion to Group Contact email](/v1/docs/system-email-templates-course-emails-general#course-completion-to-group-contact) is sent when a learner completes a course regardless of whether they pass or fail; the learner's pass/fail status is included in the email. ## Course Completion ### Email Subject *|group.name|*: Completed Course *|course.name|* Example: Manufacturing: Completed Course Employee Onboarding Course ### Description This email is sent to a learner when they complete and pass a course. A link to a survey will be included in the email if: > The [course's **Enable Post-Course Evaluations** setting](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/course-post-course-evaluations#enable-postcourse-evaluations) is checked AND > The [**Evaluation Location** setting](https://support.smarteru.com/docs/course-post-course-evaluations#evaluation-location) is set to *Course Completion Email* or *Both* If the course's **Course Certificate** setting is set to *Default* or *Custom*, the course completion certificate is attached to the email. If the learner's [dashboard set includes a page that displays completed courses](/v1/docs/adding-a-completed-courses-page), the learner can also download the course certificate from the [course details page](/v1/docs/learner-interface-course-details-enrollment). ### Example ![Course%20Completion%2020231102](https://cdn.document360.io/7efaadab-fef6-4186-806a-2ca14c9ce9ea/Images/Documentation/Course%20Completion%2020231102.png) ### Changing the Template [Administrators and owners](/v1/docs/user-profile-information#access-level) can change the default template for the account by doing one of the following: - [Select the template from the Email Management Dashboard](/v1/docs/changing-the-accounts-default-email-templates). Be sure to select the Course Completion email type from the grid. - [Edit the account's](/v1/docs/editing-your-account-settings) [Email Template Options settings](/v1/docs/account-email-template-options). [Expand the Course accordion](/v1/docs/account-email-template-options#course-email-types) and select the email template for the [Course Completion email type](/v1/docs/account-email-template-options#course-completion). To change the email template used for a specific course: 1. Check the [**Send Course Completion Notification** checkbox](/v1/docs/online-course-completion-setup#send-course-completion-notification) on the Course Information workscreen. 1. Check the **Change Assigned Email Template** checkbox. 2. Select the template from the list. 3. Click **Save**. --- ## Course Completion to Group Contact ### Email Subject *|user.fullname|* *|email.subjectresultmessage|* *|course.name|* Example: John Smith has completed Employee Onboarding Course ### Description This email is sent to the email addresses specified in the [group's **Send Completion Notifications To** setting](/v1/docs/group-group-information#send-completion-notifications-to) when: > A learner completes an [online](/v1/docs/courses-online)[](https://help.smarteru.com/about-online-courses$top_of_page)or [SCORM](/v1/docs/courses-scorm)[](https://help.smarteru.com/about-scorm-courses)course AND > The [online](/v1/docs/online-course-completion-setup#send-course-completion-notification) or [SCORM course's **Send Course Completion Notification** setting](/v1/docs/scorm-course-completion-setup#send-course-completion-notification) is selected The email includes a PDF of the user's transcript.
