# Teams 

Teams provide a way to group [users](https://support.smarteru.com//v1/docs/users) together without having to use [groups](https://support.smarteru.com//v1/docs/groups). For example, you may want to create an Instructor’s team and assign users who are instructors from various groups to that team. Or, you may want to create teams for users who are part of your leadership.
