Learner Interface: Taking Your First Course in SmarterU

Welcome to SmarterU! The following steps will help you take your first course in SmarterU:

1. Open the Account Invitation email that was sent to you.
2. Click the link in your Account Invitation email to access your account's learning portal.
3. Log into SmarterU using the username and password included in the email. After logging in, you'll be prompted to change your password. 
4. Change your password. The learner interface displays a menu of options along the left. 

If you have other permissions in the account you can ensure the learner interface is displayed by clicking the  icon located in the upper left.

5. If someone else has enrolled you in a course, continue to step 6. Otherwise, browse the course catalog and enroll in a course. Depending on how your account is configured, you may have to purchase courses. 
6. Your next step will depend on the type of course that you're taking:

• If you're taking an online course, you can start the course. You can refer to the Viewing Course Tasks page for information on navigating the tasks that your online course might contain and the Online Course Buttons and Links page for details on the buttons and links within the online course.
• If you're taking a SCORM course, be sure that you've disabled pop-up blockers that might prevent your SCORM course from launching. The buttons and links available in a SCORM course will depend on how the course was created.
• If you've been enrolled in an instructor-led course by another user, you may need to specify whether you'll be attending the course.
